The Seven Mountains Mandate!

The Seven Mountains Mandate is a concept for influencing culture the New Apostolic Reformation leaders push in their churches. The 7 Mountains represent different influential sectors of society that the leaders try to push on it’s followers, in the name of dominion theology. The leaders of the NAR are trying to gain back the dominion Adam used to have in Genesis and create God’s kingdom on Earth before Jesus comes, even though that is not Biblical and Jesus isn't going to need our help to establish his Earthly kingdom when He returns. They want Christians to control everything in the name of Jesus. The 7 Mountains Mandate appears to have come like this, from the website below:

“In 1975, Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade, and Loren Cunningham, founder of Youth With a Mission, had lunch together in Colorado. God simultaneously gave each of these change agents a message to give to the other. During that same time frame Francis Schaeffer was given a similar message. That message was that if we are to impact any nation for Jesus Christ, then we would have to affect the seven spheres, or mountains of society that are the pillars of any society.
These seven mountains are business, government, media, arts and entertainment, education, the family and religion. There are many subgroups under these main categories. About a month later the Lord showed Francis Schaeffer the same thing. In essence, God was telling these three change agents where the battlefield was. It was here where culture would be won or lost. Their assignment was to raise up change agents to scale the mountains and to help a new generation of change agents understand the larger story.”

Some diagrams of the 7 Mountains Mandate include a huge mountain behind the other mountains which represents the Kingdom of God. NAR leaders use different verses out of context to support this belief.
Not just Joshua 1:11, but also Matthew 28:19-20, where Jesus mentions making disciples of the nations. The NAR reads that as putting a Christian leader in each nation to rule over the people and be an influence to them. But Jesus was referring to helping people get saved in every country.

“Q: Is the Reclaiming the 7 Mountains strategy about Christians taking over?

A: No, it is about encouraging Christians to serve the culture by solving societal problems through love, compassion and service as following the example of Jesus Christ. It is about serving those in key cultural spheres that the Church has abandoned. The original mandate in Genesis 1 calls for Adam and Even to exercise stewardship over the earth as God's representative. However, when Adam and Eve fell this mandate could only be restored through the death of Jesus (Luke 19:10, Col. 1:19). We do not believe Christians are to control the world or seek to have a utopia in society. However, we do believe we are called to serve the culture as we live out our faith to be salt and light in all aspects of society.”

Funny how it says they are not claiming to take over, yet the author is referring to Genesis 1:26 and 28. We are called to be representatives of God. God is in ultimate control of the Earth. But what God appears to have really meant in those verses was to take care of the Earth since He mentions that the animals and plants are for us.

Also notice how Luke 19:10 is taken out of context. Where Jesus was referring to Himself coming to save sinners who were lost as he was explaining to Zacchaeus that he became saved.

“Q: Do you believe in the separation between church and state?

A: Separation of church and state is a reference to a letter written by Thomas Jefferson to someone wanting to know if there should be one denominational influence in the nation as was the case in England. It was not meant to remove God from the public square. It was meant to allow citizens to exercise their right to different faith expressions in the public square, but not limited to one denomination.”

The question wasn’t really answered…. But it really appears they don’t believe in separation of church and state since they want to put Christian leaders in control of government and be influential. Not that it’s bad, but it’s pretty bad if you let only Christian ideas be allowed, since it can lead to corruption.

Also don’t forget that Satan tempted Jesus with full control of the world, if Jesus would worship him, while Jesus was out in the desert.

As I show in my art with what Jesus said in John 18:36, He was referring that His actual kingdom would not be on the Earth but in Heaven. Pilate was asking if Jesus was a king. The king of the Jews.
